Dr. Dawn White is a creative educator and innovative administrator with 35 years of teaching experience. For 20 years, she was a gifted program teacher promoting critical and creative thinking.
She specialized in developing active learning environment that promotes constructivist approach, encouraging learners to use real world problem solving to construct knowledge. For 12 years, she worked in a variety of teaching position including English Second Language (ESL), Early Intervention Program (EIP), and Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM).
As an Instructional Coach, she provided training in developing learner-centered classroom using differentiated instructional strategies to meet individual academic needs.
With an Ed. D. degree in Educational Leadership, Dr. White has written curriculum using project-based and problem-based inquiry-based methods of learning emphasizing simulation projects that connects with societal issues.
For the past 3 years, she has been developing and implementing research-based afterschool program curriculum to impact student achievement.
She has received numerous awards for her unique and effective educational approach including the Georgia Association for Gifted Children Margaret Bynum and has presented at national and state conferences.
Certified Teacher with Endorsement in Computer Science
Mona Brawley is an innovative and creative educator with 30 years of teaching experience. For 20 years she has worked with gifted students as a gifted program, gifted math, and Genius Hour instructor.
She promoted critical thinking in a Think Lab for students using Multiple Intelligences and Dweck’s Growth Mindset approach.
Using her math endorsement, she has worked as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Specialist and Lego Robotics Coach, and Science and Engineering Fair Coordinator.
With a master’s in organizational leadership (MOL) she has served as an instructional leader on her school’s Instructional Leadership Team for nearly twenty years and completed the esteemed Gwinnett Teachers as Leaders program.
Mona utilized her leadership degree and experience to direct the GAGE (Gwinnett Alliance for Gifted Education) Saturday and Summer Exploration Programs.
She was the recipient of the Gifted Teacher of the Year Award (2018), Local Teacher of the Year (2020), and selected top 25 semifinalists for Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year (2020).
She was selected as a Computer Science Curator for the Gwinnett County Science department to create and model sample lesson plans for Computer Science teachers.
